Since 1958

From a basement in 1958 to a 40,000 sq ft DC

Fastening House is a privately held, Canadian supplier to electrical, mechanical and general contractors and sub-contractors — what you want, when, where and how you want it.

How it started

In 1958 Reg Moore began Moore’s Tool and Equipment Service out of the basement of his father’s paint and wallpaper store, built around one idea: convenient on-site delivery to general and sub-contractors in the GTA. By the mid-1960s the focus had turned to the electrical and mechanical trades, and the business became Fastening House — the specialty tool and fastener authority across Ontario.

Reg’s sons Ken and Keith joined in the 1970s. In the late 1980s the company added aerial work platforms — scissor lifts and booms — the line that became All Trade Rentals, today 1,000+ pieces of equipment with working heights up to 130'.

Today

In 2021 the business was acquired by Jessee Schaefer (Owner / CEO) and Brandon Chapman (Owner / COO), both long-term employees. In 2023 Sabre Industrial Supplies Ltd. — founded in 1977 in BC, serving food and beverage processing, manufacturing, government, transportation and utilities — joined the group.

Head office and the 40,000 sq ft distribution centre are at 160 Bass Pro Mills Drive in Vaughan. Our own fleet of flatbeds, trucks and cube vans supplies every branch and job site from there.
